Orca here, to the rescue! Percy is a 12-year-old living in New York when he learns that the reason he has dyslexia and ADHD is that he is a demigod-a child of one of the ancient Greek gods and a mortal. He goes to a special camp for people like-and very unlike-him. there he meets a girl named Annabeth and learns that his best friend-Grover-is a satyr, a half-goat-half-person. He has to learn to survive before something(s) try to destroy him. Read the books to learn more. |
In this book, Percy is about 16 years old. He is the half-blood of the prophecy, and the fate of the world rests on his soldier-but no pressure. In the beginning, he is in school, but a sudden disaster(as always) gets him out and packing. He is then sent to Camp Half-Blood and helps to protect it against attack. He later travels to the Empire State building-which just happens to have a secret 600th floor, which in turn happens to lead to Mount Olympus-and calls on his dad-who just happens to be Posiedon, the god of the sea and earthquakes-to help destroy Typhon because he just happens to want to help destroy the world and Mount Olympus. Finally, Kronos makes it to the top in the body of a friend, and tries to destroy it from the inside-inside the throne room of the gods, that is-and its then up to Percy asnd his friends to stop him by destroying their former friend's body. Annabeth may try to help and Percy may just survive-you have to read it first-so this book is full of exitment and anticipation. A friend of Percy, but not ofAnnabeth, comes to the rescue and might become something of importance to gods and half-bloods alike.Things turn out OK in the end, but who survives, and who is at the end of the line? I simply love it and I hope you someday read this book. |
